PMBOK guide is a formal document that describes established norms, methods, processes and practices from the project management industry. Project Management practitioners contributed voluntarily to the development of this guide based on recognized good practices in the profession.

PMBOK guide provides guidelines for managing individual projects. The projects can be from any industry and any domain. The guide provides and promotes a common vocabulary among the project management team. With this, it becomes much more easier to communicate within the project management team.
